Parkinson's Disease TreatmentsFor Parkinson’s disease there are more drugs treatments available, as well as a surgical option. Again, these are not cures, rather are used to manage symptoms. Parkinson’s disease is thought to be genetic, but the scientific community is still researching hereditary connections. What is known about Parkinson’s disease is that there is a higher chance of diagnosis if there is a first degree relative with the disease. Other potential causes include environmental factors such as unusual exposure to herbicides and pesticides. Sudden and uncontrolled muscle movements are the primary visual cue that someone has Parkinson’s disease. Drugs used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s include are more numerous than those used to treat Alzheimer’s. There are different drug treatments with different effects on the symptoms.
